Atherton colls
Let's get this started early! Big game, what would your side be.... I'll start us off, I'd go for the experience throughout, Melling back I think?
Obviously Ben in goal
Back 4 of Holt, Melling, Botham, Hodkiss
Midfield 4 of Ed O'Neill, Grimes, Mahoney and Boswell
Wright and Joe O'Neill up top

Re: Atherton colls
George Melling got 6 game ban so will not be back until Darwen game.
Your team plus Lloydy in for Melling and Matty for Ed.

When I've seen colls in the past they've been very physical, wheel the big lads out!

Yes I agree with Hammers.
Who is on the bench?

Re: Atherton colls
Bit nail biting that.
Nelson far superior in the first half but seemed to lose their way in the second. Colls could easily have got something from this one.
3 more wins and we are champions.

Re: Atherton colls
Phew!! Now I've got my breath back - bit too close for comfort but I'm sure we all expected it to be a tough one.
As Peter Wright stated in a tweet after the game - great mentality from the players particularly at 3-2 - they kept their heads and their focus at a critical time, something we have seen buckle in games v top 5 this season (Formby and Hanley at home). So well done to all the lads who are proving worthy of promotion favourites.
Credit however, must also go to the tactical maestro that is Mr Fell. I noticed he changed the shape slightly when dropping Joe into a deeper left side creating almost a diamond in the middle but leaving a right winger in Boswell which nullified their dominant second half performance in the middle of the park.
This seemed to throw Colls a little bit and the Nelson started to ask further questions. The first warning shot was Boswells curler into the top corner (How the hell did the keeper stop that from going in).
As soon as we scored the 4th Joe went back up top and normal shape resumed with Jonny Hession out wide on left.
Brilliant tactics at a precarious time that paid handsome dividends.
Get In!!!!!!!!!!!!
