The change in fixtures means we play 3 games in a week.

Thursday - Monday - Thursday

Biggest week for the club in a few years

The first of those is against Northwich Flixton Villa who also play on the Monday and the Wednesday prior to our fixture.

They play 3 in 4 days so will be knackered.

Two days later 1874 play against Formby.

By the time we go to Darwen on my birthday we will be pretty clear about what we have to do.

Rochdale 4 Formby 2, win next Thursday and it's job done

Against a team who will have played on the Monday and the Wednesday before we play them on the Thursday.

I know we have 3 games in a week and am also aware that Flixton have the 3 games in 4 days but has anyone checked out Rochdale's remaining fixtures - 8 games in 10 days - unbelievable.

They play tonight, Wed, Thurs, Sat, Mon, Tues, Wed and then us on Thursday - so if we think flixton will be knackered spare a thought for Rochdale.

I did notice. By then they might not be able to raise a team!

Is this normal Philip - to cram so many games in?

Does the league programme have to finish on a certain date?

It does seem so, and this year the season ends a week earlier.

Something to do with the world cup I believe, though what that has to do with level 10 football is beyond me.

If the league won't extend the season they are going to have to play two games a week in August & September just to get them out of the way.
