Ins and Outs
Just been reading Mark's comments on the website, stating a hand picked few are being targeted as signings, anyone seen anything anywhere else that would make us significantly stronger? Or what positions do you think we need to fill?
Re: Ins and Outs
I think Atherton Coll's captain Brad Cooke would be an excellent addition given that Colls manager has now left the club he may be willing to leave.
Mark made mention of being an admirer in his programme notes so if I was a betting man............
I also think Jay Hart at Colne as he has pace to burn, experience of Prem division, he's local and he would give the team a different dimension.
Not really seen anything else to improve us unless we look to higher divisions for eg, What about a return for Ben Hoskin as management left due to relegation at Workington.
Suppose we will all have to be patient.

Re: Ins and Outs
A couple of premier league defenders for me, one more striker. Think we've enough from a midfield players. Grimes and Cooke cancelled each other out in the game at Victoria Park so if Grimes stays probably no need for Cooke. We've an abundance of wide men so no problem there and the GK is already tied up.
What about Bobby Langford from Darwen as a 3rd striker? Or Mike Brandon from 1874?
Defender wise I've not seen much quality in this league, the search needs to be from the league above and beyond, if Melling stays he's our animal , just need someone alongside probably with a yard more pace and passing range

Re: Ins and Outs
Bit of a tease from Mark in his latest piece on the website, and we've missed out on a striker? Was that Hart?

Sad to see Lydon moving on.
Need to find a quality left back to replace him.

Agreed, classy defender only exposed once (Formby), great left foot, replacement needed!

Re: Ins and Outs
I would expect a lot of trialists will come in preseason and we won't know who the new players are until a few weeks in
Re: Ins and Outs
Well Hammers you were spot on, Brad Cooke signed today, wouldn't mess with our midfield with him and Grimes in it!
Re: Ins and Outs
Good luck to him, bit of a strange move for me at his age, wanted to much to early? Was never going to get a look in for the 1st team with Ahmed, Mahoney, Grimes and Cooke all ahead of him that's before you look at the left back options of Lloyd and Hoskin... But still could of learned from them all and bided his time, maybe he's been offered 1st team football at Colne which he can't turn down
Re: Ins and Outs
