Would it not be better if our senior players where to encourage our younger players, rather than slaughter them for every mistake, i feel Nelson have some excellent youngsters, ie; Lloyd, Mason, Peet, Hession, Mahoney etc,who are all learning their trade, and would thrive with more support from their "team mates". These lads are the clubs future, but we could lose them, or worse destroy them if this continues. Our captain yesterday against West Didsbury, is the biggest offender, i'm all for constructive criticism, with equal measures of praise, but i suggest he looks at his own game, because on the whole this season he has been very average at best.

Welcome COYB, I agree in part, there is a lot of back biting in the side. My question would be are the young lads being blood too early? Mason undoubtedly very good but seems to pick up a booking for a rash challenge every game. Hession can be electric but end product? And fades drastically when he starts games. I'm not having that Peet or Mahoney are consistent enough at this level, do we therefore need to develop then in the reserves?

Totally agree with come on you blues ! From what I have witnessed this season , certain senior players are guaranteed there starting place regardless of performances . Seems that the younger players get slated for every mistake and performance .
Strong case of the tale wagging the dog !
Not a good ingredient for a good , happy dressing room !!

I take on board your comments J regarding the youngsters, Mason is undoubtedly a talent, but he is prone to a rash challenge or two,but he will learn that he doesn't have to win every tackle, and i would think that issue is being addressed by the coaching staff, and your right Hession can be electric at times, could the lack of an end product just be a confidence issue?, maybe a run of two or three games would answer that, and improve his stamina, because i think he is far too talented to just be an impact sub.Lloyd in my opinion is another player with a tremendous future in the game, he is so reliable week after week, as for Peet, i'm not sure of his best position, ive seen him have good games on the wing, and i thought he was excellent at 1874 at full back.Young Mahoney probably is one for the future, but all these young players need encouragement and time to fulfil their potential, so lets hope all the back biting stops, because it doesn't look very professional on a match day.

ManCity who would you leave out? There are 3 that look to me to be guarenteed starters Danny Mahoney, Peter Wright and Joe O'Neill. Oh and Ben Woodhead

It's all well and good saying they need time, but have we got time? We're not a full time club and there is without question some expectation at the club (I'll be the first to say I've bought into the expectation and fuelled it). Do we therefore expect too much? What was the mandate for this year? Survival, midtable? Promotion?

Hession has been in and out the side but has he done enough to keep his place? Hard one, brilliant away at West Dids as a sub then poor against Ashton the week later - I remember having this very debate with some away fans that day. I can't see anything to suggest Mahoney is up to it, no impact whatsoever yesterday, why doesn't he therefore train and play with development squad until he's up to it?

I don't disagree with the attitude on the pitch, I can't believe what I hear sometimes, Wright is one of the worst I'm afraid, problem is where would we be without his 15 or so goals this season, there's not many coming from elsewhere, Joe O'Neillhas hardly got any all season nor looked like getting any, Fildes should probably be given a chance.

All good debate on here for a change though :-)

Well like come on you blues stated the biggest offender for criticism of other players has been Peter Wright , who I feel has been poor this season . Maybe concentrate on
his own game instead of constantly slating others . Always seems to be picked though . Who would you leave out ??

Probably Joe O'Neill on return as a striker? He's got 4 in 23 by my calculations. Wright 15 in 25. Where else are goals going to come from. I agree Wright can be an idiot, for those close to it yesterday he was encouraging Hession most of first half, but then couldn't help himself in picking a fight with one of the other O'Neills. I not condoning it, just saying where else will the goals come from?
