Where will we finish?

Asked this at a similar point year and most rightly said we'd win it!

What about this time round, 3rd near impossible, 4th difficult, 5th possible, I'm going for 6th and a platform for next season (and hopefully above Colne)

I'd go for that James.

Platform for next season is the focus so the higher we finish the better place we are to do that. Hopefully we can hit some good form in the back end of the season to take it into next season.

I'm going to say top 6 with Colne 7th

Good to have an input from the club on here Adam. What's the current state of play with the squad, 5 or 6 exits in the last month, not many come back in, I read about the budget cuts in the Alsager programme, can we expect to see anymore leave?

We reviewed the budget before christmas once we were realistically out of the running for promotion and changes were made with the view that anything saved from now until the end of season can be added on to next season's wagebill, which I think is a sensible approach.

Naturally a few players have left, some have come in to replace and we also have a number of long term injuries coming back into the frame in Ben Hoskin and Nat Taylor. As I've always said Im of the view 'assets on the pitch' so there's a lot of hard work going on to increase revenue and give Mark a budget that can let us have a real go for promotion next season.

From now until the end of season there's still lots to play for in terms of finishing as high as we can but expectations are of course in line with what's realistic.

Fair do's, what are the expectations?

Team wise James, we just let Mark get on with his job. He's a fantastic manager and we leave all team matters in his capable hands. He knows what he wants from the players this season and next season, so we simply support him as much as we can to help achieve that, he doesn't need anyone setting expectations for him or the team in that regard.

Expectations I focus on obviously relate to off the field targets we've set. There's some great examples of football clubs from this level that have gone on to much bigger things and so I take the time to look at best practices and good case studies to follow. Key thing is we have a good team of people at the club all working in the right roles and there's a shared vision and ambition for the future of Nelson FC.

I think Mark , Me , the board and everyone at the club are excited about what we can achieve together.
