Padiham Away Empty Padiham Away

Eagerly anticipated for me having not been able to travel to Ashington due to work commitments.

Padiham have strengthened some what from last season with 3 players from Colne (Kieran Demaine, Adam Stockdale and Marc Young) and have also signed ex Admiral Brandon Barski.

I understand there was no love lost from last season when Fildesy lured away their keeper Davies and even though both are no longer with us it still adds the extra bit of spice (not that any was needed).

At the risk of sounding too defeatist early on I think a performance with pride is needed here and if we take something from the game that would be fantastic.

It is worth remembering from the offset that this is a young and relatively inexperienced side but one which will improve by the game as the vast majority of the players are technically sound which is why they have been signed.

Anybody else going tonight?

Bet Easty is wondering what's going on.
He'd better get used to losing if this is best players he can recruit. Seems to me we are badly lacking in attacking midfieid and the usual problem of no attack.
Loss no.3 coming up midweek.
Anyone care to comment?

Can't disagree on the attacking front Bob as I don't think keeper had a save to make today v Colls.

I thought Mahoney and Sammi coming on were positive subs and also thought we were much the better side in the 2nd half.

That said, we never really threatened. Nutty limped off injured early which left Zak Dale our only real attacking option.

Definitely need another centre half but believe we have just signed one, also need a versatile holding midfielder and a robust striker to hold the ball up allowing Zak to go back as a No 10 if Nutty out long term.

Thought our entire midfield that started was poor in possession today and none of them seemed to really work hard off the ball leaving the defence an awful lot to do.

The same thing happened at Padiham in the 2nd half.

Easty and Gerry on hols but back next Saturday so probably same on Tuesday and yet another tough fixture at West Didsbury.
