Defensive Frailties Empty Defensive Frailties

Post by BLUESBOB Tue Sep 17, 2013 9:14 am

Now its my turn to bandy stats about. How about this: we are top of the league (albeit due to number of games played) And we have the 4th worst defensive record in the entire division!!!
Only Daisy Hill, Oldham Boro & Northwich FV have conceded more than us. That being said we are by far and away the top scoring team in the division, with only Atherton colls anywhere close (7 goals less than us).

My concern for this weekend at Consett is that given our terrible defence, we will be swamped in the 1st half, and I cannot see us doing an Oldham Boro comeback against a much better team.

Comments anyone?

As much as I hate to admit it Bob, I share your fears.

I think the only possible way we can get a result is by swamping them first with our dangerous attacking threat.

Playing a team above you in league terms and away from home it would normally be very sensible to sit deep and see what they offer however if we do that, I think the scenario you describe will inevitably happen.

And Danny Finch suspended for this weekend. Time to get into the transfer market for some defenders.
