Consett currently lie in 4th place in Northern League 1st Div ( same as our prem div) and have played all 8 games away from home. Last sat they won 4-3 at Durham City and midweek 4-0 at Billingham Town.

Seems to me we will have a big job on our hands on Sat.

A four all draw sounds good to me.

We have nothing to lose but you never know which team will turn up Oldham 1st half or Oldham 2nd half.

Look what we did when we just went for it.

But like you say these lot are a totally different proposition.

Anyone going up?

3 going up with me so at least 4 of us.

Consett will be a very good side and this will be a very tough ask. I can't make the trip this week but will follow on twitter. Be nice to get them back to victoria park for a midweek replay

Bit or googling says they've a very dangerous winger and an in form striker. Apparently Nelson have had them watched so should be well briefed.

Watching them and playing them are very very different.

I hope the trip up on the Friday evening is to make sure the team are well prepared.

There is a Premier Inn 2 minutes from the ground, hope Lenny doesn't tire them out! lol!

Fantastic performance from the 14 players that played, referee was dreadful and evened up game by sending consett keeper off after gifting them a goal by not letting Tom Murphy on the pitch. Very hostile, vocal crowd, lads did great

Gutted to have missed the game due to unforeseen circumstances.

I have been advised that they were brilliant throughout the 90 mins.

Can anyone tell me what is the highest ranked team that is allowed to compete in this competition?

I wouldn't say that they were brilliant throughout the 90 minutes. The defence was as the defence has been all season and we were out muscled in midfield for much of the game.

The forward play however was outstanding at times but unfortunately we missed far too many chances. After 22 minutes it was 2 - 2 , it should have been 8 - 4 to the Blues.

That said can't criticise a win. Just hope for a home draw against someone at around our level and save the bigger boys for later when we have sorted out the defence.

I think this is Nelson's longest cup run for 4 years, played one, won one.

Wembley here we come.
