Re: New signing
I heard that at the game today. In my opinion completely the right decision from Mark, that lad has been dining out on his name and reputation for too long, he just hasn't stood out for some time, and no doubt we spent good money on him.
In terms of the game, 2nd half was something I've not seen all season... We dug in, worked hard and ground it out, 3 points and off we went, now for a pint of mild while I thaw out and dry off

Re: New signing
That makes it two clean sheets in a row. All we need now is a clean duvet and we will be dreaming along.
Goalkeeper was clearly our man of the match in spite of his yellow card for a needless foul. With the ref that we had it could easily have been a red.
We never seem to play very well on wet muddy pitches but to grind out a result when the opposition played the better football is pleasing to see, it's the sort of result that gets you enough points to be in with a decent shout at promotion.
This league is clearly a race between 5 teams and by Christmas we will have played 7 out of the 8 games we have to play against our promotion rivals. If we are within a couple of games of the top at the turn of the year we will be in a very strong position to capitalise and hopefully go up to get those derby games against Colne & Barnoldswick.

Re: New signing
Exactly right Phillip, Nelson's run in is by far the best of all the top 5, it's about staying in the race now. I genuinely think this is the year
Re: New signing
In terms of the keeper, best hands and feet in this league and several above. Suspect off his line and decisions at times but he plucked a couple of fierce shots out the air today, I've never seen him spill when he attempts to catch and his kicks are a weapon in attack too. But... On another day could have been sent off...
Re: New signing
Yes he could have been sent off, but he was saved by the fact that the forward player was heading for the corner flag. Totally needless foul though.
