Squires Gate...and the absentees!

Post by JKennett636 on Sun Jan 04, 2015 6:03 am

Interesting afternoon! Good advert for nonleague footy, Nelson could and should have won had it not been for some amateur defending. Major talking point amongst decent crowd --- apparently budget cuts have led to release of 6 players, not sure who as half the names I was told were at the game watching!!? Maybe club to clarify?

Substitutions probably turning point, good crowd which was good to see post Colne. Walmsley clearly a touch of class, goal was a cracker.

Plenty of mystery about who's staying and who's gone, sure it'll all be out in wash next week

So Robert Grimes and Michael Morrison gone along with Peet, hoping we get a signing or two in to replace

Grimes was a marvel last season, but poor this season. Morrison the other way round. Similar to when Chris Turner left maybe this? that proved to be the right decision. I expect the key will be in who replaces them.
