AFC Flyde - lancs cup QF
I'll start us off then, I suppose very dependant on what team they put out , but with promotion their main aim I think we could play a Fylde reserves, if that's the case they're going out of the cup!
Re: AFC Flyde - lancs cup QF
It does not matter what team they put out, if Nelson continue to play as they have for the past 5 weeks or so we can beat anyone at our level and at the glue level.
Since the beginning of November we have;
Played 7
Won 7
Goals for 25 at an average of 3.57 per game
Goals against 6 at an average of 0.86 per game including two clean sheets
Much that I would like my sponsored player to keep another clean sheet I predict a scoreline of
Fylde 1, Nelson 3.
Rock on you Blues.

God - I hope your right Philip.
I understand they have quite a few injuries at present and like J said the league will be their main priority.
Carver will have to be watched closely though - he is also a work horse for the team and will pressurise our defence when in possession so hopefully no silly errors to gift them something.
I really can't wait for this game as I too believe we can do them if we play like we have been doing.

At the risk of jumping up and down at the first defeat in a while... I thought we were poor tonight, no real plan B from Mark when we needed to chase the game, defended very very deep. Very tepid way to go out of the cup, expected a bit more fight

Wasn't there so can't comment, but surely we've just ran a club 3 tiers higher very close?
Re: AFC Fylde - lancs cup QF
I don't think we were good enough to win but we weren't bad enough to lose.
They used the ball much better than we did at times but fortunately they were wasteful in front of goal.
We looked sluggish at times but they are three leagues above and at home and if no Carver for them we would have won.
Don't think we needed a plan B Trueblue - we just needed to push up quicker as we sat very deep throughout second half and am pretty sure this would not have been Mark's tactic.
I agree we could have been better but 3 - 2 away tells me that we are not a million miles away from standard needed to compete at evo prem level and that is judging us when we didn't play to our full potential.
I thought Woodhead, Allen and Grimes all deserved to be on winning side.
Better communication and more composure required from defenders if playing at this level as their third goal compounded.
Ah well let's just concentrate on a very winnable double!!!
I hate to say it but I am fearing for Daisy Hill on Saturday - Big Time

thought nelson played very well and kept going to the end, certainly wouldn't have thought they were three leagues below fylde - and it was just about fylde's strongest team at the moment
