ABBEY HEY LAST NIGHT
Same old defending last night conceded 2 headed goals,a third effort hit the woodwork. We dont seem to cope when teams press us,just aimlessly getting rid of the ball, the same thing happened twice against Colne last season. We don,t look to have any pace upfront and looks like it could be a long season.

Re: ABBEY HEY LAST NIGHT
The performance on Tuesday was as poor as the performance on Saturday was good.
Very much a Jekyll & Hyde team at the moment. The first half was poor with the two goals being conceded but we did have a decent penalty claim turned down and a couple of other chances went begging, so if luck went with us we might not have been two down. But we were.
The second half started poorly with the penalty being conceded but then improved with an immediate reply followed by a second to put us back in contention. At this point Nelson started to shade the game with some good attacking moves but still didn't look as solid as they did on the previous Saturday.
The game could, and should, have been saved in the last minute of added time when Peter Wright put the ball into the net only for the liner to flag for offside. No one knows how he was offside when there was a player on the line and two others plus the goalkeeper in front of Peter.
All in all a disappointment.
Nelson need to play like they did against Runcorn Town if they are to challenge in this league. More performances like Tuesday and the opportunity to progress will be lost.
I am still confident that we can do well, after all in our promotion year two seasons ago we had a few hiccups.
