Where to start.....

Firstly Mark, I'm begging you, please get some defenders in. Having said that, whatever was said at half time did the trick cause effectively we won 2nd half 5-0.

Allen class, Grimes class. The young lad Brooks needs a mention too, 16 and played 90 minutes did well.

All in all just a strange afternoon...

What a crazy game!!

What went wrong in the first half - Poor communication between centre halves. You had to feel for keeper who is quality but had no chance with goals as he was left totally exposed time and again.

Both centre halves are good players but neither are leaders. One good centre half with the ability to read the game, good voice and good anticipation and we would probably be out of sight regarding the league. He could play along side either and we would be solid.

The way we defend, the centre halves need acceleration and neither are blessed in this department and this is continually exploited by the opposition when back line is breached with a simple channel ball when we are so far up the pitch.

However both redeemed themselves in the second half with solid displays.

Thought Finch was superb today along with all midfield who worked their socks off. Allen no need to comment on other than pure class.

Great to see Paddy Furey included in the squad having just completed 90 minutes for Dev Squad and scoring the only goal of the game in a superb win for Sam's young charges away at the big guns.

Well I picked a good game to miss didn't I.

Better make sure I get to Consett.

Might have to drive up, club seem to be dallying over running a coach. Apparently the team are travelling up on the Friday evening.

There's a mini bus going they said on Saturday
